Isla tried peas last night. Just like with Maja, we are skipping baby food and moving straight to good old regular table stuff. So last night I made chicken soup and we decided the peas out of it should be Isla's first food... I mushed a few with my finger and she seemed to like them. Didn't spit them out or gagged or anything. We got it on video but I haven't uploaded anything yet.

Sweet new ride
Now that it's nice outside we got the Cadillac of all outdoor strollers... this thing rocks!!
Can you tell Maja likes it?
We took it for spin and here's Isla still sleeping when we got back
She stayed snuggled up

Chunky Monkey is 4 months old
Well, make that 4.5 months :)
* she is a great sleeper and falls asleep all by herself most of the times. She loves to turn her head into her blanket for comfort. I still let her fall asleep nursing many times because I enjoy it but we've gotten to where she doesn't really need that
* she loves to play with her legs/feet
* She is finally big enough for the Jumperoo and doorway jumper
* she got her Chunky Monkey nickname for a good reason :)

Ok, so I suck!!
So much for updating this thing every day...
We made it back from Oregon without any major issues. The girls did much better on the plane but we were all exhausted by the time we got home.
Here are pics from the trip... the first batch of them... there's more but I haven't gotten to them yet so I'll leave that for another day :)

To Grandma's house we go...
Well, we got here (Oregon, that is) a couple of days ago but boy was it a rough ride. My usually excellent traveler turned into a little nightmare. But that's my fault... I didn't do well timing things out and I ended up with an overtired toddler who just wanted to get home, eat and sleep.
We started out pretty good... Isla fell asleep while at the airport in Green Bay and I was able to board and get Maja situated in her carseat all while she snoozed away on my chest. She continued sleeping pretty much the entire flight in the carrier :)
Our layover in Minneapolis was really long... almost 3 hours but Maja loved looking at planes
and Isla enjoyed wiggling on her blanket
I should have known the next flight won't be so great when I missed the priority boarding call (they let little kids board first) and ended up having to get in pretty much last.
At first everything seemed all right
but I guess we entered some sort of Midwest equivalent of the Bermuda Triangle when Maja decided she had enough. She started screaming and nothing would make her happy. I even offered I'd take her out of her carseat (and she NEVER gets out of her carseat during a flight, even when we went to Europe--- diaper changes excluded). Nothing worked. No pretzels, no toys, no pacifier... nothing. She kept yelling "all done, all done"
Isla began to loose her patience as well and she joined in the scream fest off and on. The comforting part of it was that most people directly around her their own little kids home so she understood and offered to help. And there was a little girl right behind me so I was secretly hoping some of the people further away from us would think she is "that kid"
We finally landed in Portland which made her happy for a little while but she was less than amused when we stuck her back in the carseat in Grandma's car... the ride home took about an hour but at least there was something to look at out the window. Isla acted kind of stoned in her car seat... she was so tired that I think she was just a tad out of it. She stared me down with this drugged smile on and finally fell asleep.
Eventually we made it to Grandma's house and Maja was able to get some blueberries, cheese and milk. Doesn't she look exhausted?
She had a little trouble falling asleep in a different bed but I figured out all she needed was the light on.
Finally the day came to an end

Every other day is just as good!
So I'm playing with my new camera and right now I'm trying to figure out if the issues with focusing I'm having are the camera's (which after some quick research I found could very well be) or mine. Now that I mastered focusing on my old camera, it sucks having to go back to not getting as good of a result.
Anyway, here are some keepers from this morning. We went to Tri County Gymnastics and Maja, as always, enjoyed herself:

Mama's got a new toy!
A new camera to torture the munchkins with :). It's a bit intimidating with all these new buttons and functions. Also, all the features I'm used to are now in a different place on the camera so that feels weird.
I'll try to get some pis of the girls tomorrow and see how it performs.

Barf-o-rama 2010
Not sure why but Maja spent a big chunk of last night throwing up. Poor baby was so tired but put up with taking a quick bath each time since every time she threw up she was laying down and it got all over her head :(. She was just fine today; maybe a little tired from being up so much but we all took a nice long nap to make up for it.
Why does only throw up at night??? thank goodness both this and last time Daddy had a night off and able to help out!
