Cleaning up

You know those people that never throw stuff away?? well, that's me with pictures. I keep EVERY SINGLE ONE! if it makes it into the computer, it never gets deleted and I finally maxed it out... gotta delete and back up.
So that's what I'm doing tonight... so far I deleted a few thousands... yep, thousands of photos that don't need to be here and I'm not even close to being done.  Also, since I shoot in RAW format I'm having to convert everything to jpeg before I throw it into the "backup" pile.

And when I'm done with this, there's about 30.000 pictures on Jeff's computer that I need to go through. Not fun!

But I learned my lesson and now so far this month I have only kept the good ones.

Welcome baby Gabriel!!!!

My little sis had her baby on Feb. 24th. 8lbs, 20in if my conversion is correct.

He decided to come a little earlier than expected so I thought the girls and I could get on the same flight my Mom is taking next month to go visit but I didn't realize that Isla doesn't have a passport and you can't get one without a birth certificate which she doesn't have yet either. I will order it on Monday and than expedite the passport when it arrives but with only 4 weeks left I doubt there will be enough time. Oh well... we will just have to wait a little longer.

We had a playdate this morning with some of the babies born within 2 months of each other in our playgroup (3 were missing). What's interesting about them all is that some share a birthday. Isla and Fisher were born on the same day and Alastair and Lucy were born at the same time 6 weeks later and Greyson and Vincent were born just a day apart. And neither due dates were close. What are the odds, right?

A while back I blogged about Maja's first taste of chocolate where she seemed less then impressed.

Well, that may have changed since.

The other day Daddy was making chocolate mousse and after turning his back to Maja for a little bit, this is what he found when he turned around

The power of paci

The other night I heard Maja get out of bed. I looked at the video monitor and sure enough she was out but I couldn't see her by the door. I went in and turned out that on her way to the door, she had found her paci on the floor (which I heard falling out earlier in the evening) and decided to go to sleep right there... on the floor. I almost tripped over her when I went in cause I didn't see her!

"Snortimer" is a lot of fun these days.

- she can roll from belly to back

- she has lengthy conversations with the toys hanging on her playmat

- when she goes to sleep now, she likes it when I lay with her on our bed and she gives me all sorts of cute grins and giggles just to eventually cuddle up and fall asleep. I just love it!

- she seems to be going through a carseat-hating stage

- she loves being tickled

Maja is not doing so well tonight. She has a fever of 102.5 and if I remember correctly, this is the first time she's ever gotten a fever.

We tried out the Bumbo today... it went pretty well and I think she likes it although this picture makes me giggle

First cold

I just realized I forgot to blog about this but Isla had her first cold a  couple of weeks ago. She dealt with it like a champ although it was pretty sad seeing her that congested.

I think it's funny that both girls deal with sickness way better then their Daddy!

Where did my baby go???

I swear I blinked and my newborn disappeared!

I can't get enough of her. The minute she makes eye contact with someone, she is all smiles. She "talks' up a storm and is getting sooo strong. The other day I caught her lifting up her upper body along with the legs. Here's a picture... it doesn't look like it but her head and upper body really is off the pillow

Her hand-eye coordination is amazing... she grabs for the toys on her mat and her grip is really tight... you have to be careful when lifting her up because she doesn't let go easily.

She ADORES her big sister. The minute she hears Maja, she tries to find her and lately she started smiling at her too. Of course Maja loves her back... she has to kiss Isla when going to sleep, after she wakes up and everytime she gets upset. Like a good big sister, Maja tries all sorts of things like feeding her pretzels or stealing her paci but Isla doesn't mind one bit.

She is still an awesome sleeper... goes down around 6:30pm and only wakes up a few times before 7:30-8am. Still takes super long naps and although for the most part we try to keep her in her own bed, every now and then it's nice to just let her cuddle up

She rocks!

She may just go to college with a paci on her mouth

- she sleeps with about 4 of them. 2 are "held" by her bunny, one is in her mouth and another in her hand
- you know those weird big round pacis they give babies at the hospital? she never took to them but the other day I had one laying around and thought that maybe if I gave her that one, she'd think they are not comfortable and maybe that will help? nope.. she loves them!
- this afternoon I found her behind the couch, in the corner sucking on Isla's paci that was still attached to the carseat we leave in said corner
- when we hang out upstairs, she will collect all of her pacis (there usually is a few under her bed so she crawls under there!) put them on a chair and proceed to take turns on them

Oh well...
