So here we are, it is my last workday as a non-parent and we are pretty excited about that. Although I think Aga is really going to miss the belly. And not in the "I'm pregnant" way, but in the way a man will miss his favorite knife that he lost. It just looks so utilitarian, and watching her use the belly in different ways should be an inspiration to us all. Just the other day I caught her eating sunflower seeds off of it. It was like watching an otter eat his food while floating on his back at the aquarium. Absolutely adorable I tell ya! It is ingenuity like that which allowed man to get to the moon. Sure every once in a while it gets a little out of control to where something gets knocked off a counter top, and yes it removes Aga's ability to effectively pick that thing up off the ground. But that is a small price to pay for the ability to have a steady platform at ANY TIME. Honestly it could revolutionize the carpentry business.
Well, I will check back in before we go to have the baby (yay), so until then....

Spent the morning at the Dr's office
Well... we made it 38 weeks without having to go in for an emergency visit. I guess we were bound to have a scare at some point.
This morning after breakfast I was watching TV and realized I hadn't felt Maja in a long time... in fact, she was unusually mellow over night and normally she will move around while I go to the bathroom which is like 10 times per night.
So I went upstairs and tried all my regular tricks and couldn't get her to move... not even slightly. After over 30 mins she finally shifted very, very slowly and then nothing for another half hour.
I called the Dr and they had me come in to do a NST test. For the first 15 mins of it, there was nothing again which isn't good. Finally they poked and buzzed the heck out of her, which I guess woke her up and she ended up passing the darn thing.
They said she was alright but I should call them back if something like this happens again.
One thing is sure though... seeing your Dr get worried about something is not fun!!

Eviction notice for Maja
Dear Maja
You have 18 days in which you can gather your belongings and vacate the premises or you will be physically removed from the property. You're being evicted due to a breech of contract and destruction of property. Expansions only to the front of the property, within reasonable limits, were discussed. Not only have these limits been exceeded, but additions to the back of the property were also made. Remodeling and gutting the property was never approved, nor was changing the initial layout and base structure. And due to property damage, there are now leaks in both upper and lower levels of the property. Also, late night parties have been discovered on the property and are not appreciated! Any further problems will result in immediate removal!
Sincerly,
Mommy

So sad :(
This is what happens when your fingers get fat and you forget to take your wedding ring off!
Not fun! and wasn't easy either because I have 3 rings stuck together.
I never take it off (not even for showering) so it never crossed my mind until one morning last week when I woke up with my hand hurting... tried all sort of tricks but they didn't work and my finger was really bad. We went to a jeweler and it took her forever to cut it, but afterward she couldn't spread it out so we went home and Jeff used his own tools to do it :(.
Thank goodness for Shanco's lifetime warranty! I called them ahead of time and they said they'll put it back together at no charge.
We are settled in at our new home!!!
So I am going to try to catch you up on all the fun since my last post.
At the loan closing, I had Aga's power of attorney. So not only did I have to sign my own name 50 times, I also had to write "Agnieszka M O'Neil, By Jeffrey D O'Neil, as her Attorney in Fact" where Aga's name goes. Also 50 times. My own name was pretty simple, after the Navy my own signature is little more than just a line with illusions of grandeur. However, writing down the consonant-laden monstrosity that is my wife's name was a bit taxing on my brain. It was honestly like getting hit in the nuts... No matter how much you prepare yourself, you just can't do it smoothly without a lot of tears.
After all that was finished, I got the keys to our new house. Eager to have my own place, I drove there immediately. I ended up sleeping on the floor for the first 2 nights, but that was alright because it was my floor. Basically my whole life for the next 5 days revolved around getting the house ready for my wife and child. She got here about 15 minutes until midnight on that Wednesday night.
From what I hear, my mother in law is a bit of a speed demon. Kosmo and Luna got out a little wild eyed, I never knew dogs had the ability to actually kiss the ground. It was kinda strange, but it was as if the dog's kinda understood that this was home. There really wasn't a whole lot of sniffing around. They just walked in and accepted everything as theirs. You're welcome guys.
The next couple of days were awesome. As you can see we finished Maja's room, although I'm not really sure of what to make of Aga's line about the shelves I put up. I quote "They are very sturdy (hold his weight)". Hold my weight? What is she trying to say? I know I am not exactly the most svelte creature God has ever put on this earth, but I am not exactly Bob with the bitch-tits from Fight Club (his name was Robert Paulson). Now all I can think is that every time we go shopping, in the back of her mind is "yeah, they are nice... how can I get Jeff to sit on them". Like holding me up is the new gold standard in furniture quality. Then again, who knows? She just might have started something. In 300 years people just may be watching out for a high Jeff's per dollar ratio when looking for a new credenza. I will say this though, they look AWESOME.
Last Tuesday, we had another Maja appointment. It was Zofia's last day here, so she was able to attend. I think she enjoyed it a lot when they put the heartbeat monitor on. We got to meet our new doctor. This one is male, which I wasn't so sure of. I didn't mind Dr. Brand so much, she was very nice and patient with the two of us. But I guess in the back of my head it was never a question that we would NOT have a female doctor. So my imagination was running a little wild with the stereotypical image of a male gynecologist. And yes I know, he is an Obstetrician slash Gynecologist, but I said MY imagination, not yours. And MY imagination had this guy jumping out of a convertible Mercedes, wearing a white sports jacket with the sleeves pushed up ala Miami Vice all while "Call Me" from Blondie was playing in the background. I'm not a jealous man, but I am a man, and there was a conscious effort on my part not to slap the taste out of his mouth during the exam. Honestly, the guy was fantastic. He was very professional and a bit soft spoken, so he got to live. And for all the Ladies reading this (which is probably everyone reading this); yes, Your husband had this exact thing floating through his head. Welcome to our world, we know he is a Doctor and should be trusted, but we also know he is a Man, and therefore should be treated with suspicion. Hell, during our own physicals there is always a brief flash of "wait a minute" when the trousers drop.
Since then, we have just been getting settled in our new house and getting used to our new schedules. Hopefully there is only about a week or two until Maja gets here, stay tuned for more on what happens in between.
After re-reading that last line a couple of times I now see how absolutely cheesey it was, and for that I apologize to everybody.

Maja's room
Here are a few photos. Jeff made the shelves in the closet... he did such a great job. They are very sturdy (hold his weight) and all that's left is painting them.
We also need to paint the celling and put the closet doors back. Our glider will be here in a few weeks and the only big thing left to purchase is the crib mattress (I couldn't wait to set up our bedding though, minus the sheet, Susie from Baby Milan did an awesome job... didn't she?)
Other than that, the room is all done and ready for baby :). Click on the slideshow to be taken to the album.

and yes... I made to Green Bay!
My Mom and I left Atlanta at 10:30am on Wednesday and made it to Green Bay by midnight. I think we went a wee bit over the speed limit :). The dogs slept most of the way and the cat was such a trooper... she was quiet as a mouse in her crate!!! We really have the coolest animals ever.
