Isla is two weeks old already and since her belly button healed, we celebrated by giving her a real bath. It was quite a sight... we had Grandma and Grandpa each with a camera and Babcia with a video camera and all 4 of us in a tiny bathroom with two kiddos in the tub :). Isla loved getting all cleaned up!

My attempt at Isla's newborn pictures
Ideally you want the baby asleep for these but I'm always out of luck. It's always something... either Maja is awake and in my way or the light isn't the greatest or Isla is being clingy and won't let me put her down. Plus I should have done this during her first few days cause it only gets harder the longer you wait. So I've been sneaking some whenever I can and so far she's always been awake and super wiggly... they aren't the greatest but turned out cute. I'm hoping to snap a few more.
Barf-o-rama
What a night!!! Maja started throwing up at midnight and continued for a few hours. Poor girl was exhausted! There has been a bug going around some of her friends but I think this was just a reaction to the shots she got yesterday at her 15 months check up. Hopefully it was just a one time thing since she was pretty happy this morning.
Her check up went great. She is off the charts for height (anyone surprised by this??) and below 50% for weight. Her stats are:
height 33.5 inches
weight 22.2 lbs

Isla is one week old today!
Time flies!!
Maja still loves her baby sister although I found that she isn't as fond of sharing Mommy when it's bedtime. Tonight was the first time I had to put them both to bed with no help and it took a little while. Isla likes to comfort nurse in the evening for a while and since we still help Maja with falling asleep, she had to wait until Isla was done. She was ok with it as long as she could sit right next to me and hold my hand the entire time.
Isla is a pretty easy going baby although she has discovered that it's way better to be held by someone instead of laying down on her own. She seems to like all the "baby contraptions" a bit more then Maja did at the age. The swing is a hit or miss but it looks like anything that vibrates or bounces is a winner.
Breastfeeding is going great now after a few bumps in the beginning. She rocked at it the first couple of days and then suddenly decided she didn't want to latch on. We ended up having to use formula a few times but none since Thursday.

We are home!
First night at home went great. Maja seems pretty excited about her baby sister and loves looking at her and "petting" her head. She can even say her name :).
Isla is doing what she should... she eats, sleeps and poops and only crying when feeding time is near. She is a little piggy and loves to eat! Because of the issues we had with Maja, we ended up letting Isla have some formula when she started getting too frustrated with the breast but we are slowly moving away from that. She is a great nurser but gets annoyed when it doesn't just come out into her mouth like the bottle.
All is well in the 2 under 2 world

Pinto update
Right now it looks like we will be going in for an induction on Tuesday should Pinto not show up on his own before then. I have another Dr visit on Monday just to check on things again but Jeff and I have chosen Tuesday assuming things are favorable (and by that I mean a birth that doesn't end in a c-section) but if for whatever reason they aren't... we have a few more days to "wiggle" but he will be out by Friday, one way or the other.
Still no baby
We are going into the Dr again today to have a Non Stress Test done and make sure everything is all right in there. They will strap me to a monitor for about 30 minutes and track Pinto's heartbeat and movements. The heartbeat was a little low on Tuesday so better safe then sorry.
We should have a game plan after the test.

Still pregnant
39 weeks and still no Pinto. I guess the whole "second babies come sooner" isn't all that true. I'm heading out to the Dr in a couple hours though and I'm hoping for some progress news... I really want Pinto born in October and we are running out of days :).
I think Maja will do just fine with a baby around... she has her own "babies" and loves to hold them and kiss them and since we put up the baby swing, she's been using it for them to go "night, night" in. One of her Christmas presents was going to be a little stroller but I think she may have to get it a bit sooner.

"The Cow says Moo, the sheep says Baa..."
Maja is getting really good about her animals sounds. She knows that the sheep says "Baa", the duck says "cuac" and the dog says "ruff". We are working on cow but instead of "Moo", she ends up saying "Maa"... hmmm... I wonder if she is trying to tell me something....

Pinto update
At almost 38 weeks there are no signs of Pinto coming out anytime soon but then again my Dr will be out of town next weekend and odds are s/he decides it's the best time to come out and mess with Mommy having to deal with some stranger. Let's hope not!
While we are waiting, I've finally gotten to pulling out all of our newborn/small baby clothes to see what we have and still need. Turns out we are pretty set for the first 3 months or so regardless of gender. We have plenty of gender neutral outfits as well as some for boy and some for girl plus a bunch of warm buntings for the cold Wisconsin winter. Here's a picture of the clothes all together waiting to be put away:
if Pinto is a boy, he will be sporting this spiffy outfit:

I also packed Pinto's coming home outfits but here are some pics of what he or she will be wearing...
If it's a girl, we have this adorable outfit purchased by my sister while we were in Spain:

Do you remember Maja's coming home blanket??? It's embroidered with her name
Well, we also have one for Pinto but since we don't know what it is, I ordered one for each gender with our choice of name for each. Here's a pic... lavender for a girl and green for a boy (and no, you can't see the names on them so blowing them up to sneak won't help :) cough, cough grandma, cough cough)
