So with Aga getting all the fun of waking up for feedings and then I take off for work for ten hours, I have tried to make a point of "taking over" as soon as I get home in the evenings and also for the weekends. Pretty much I clock out from work and then my real career begins. There is a good chance that Aga considers it a double strain on her since now she has her wildebeest of a husband crashing around while he "Takes Care" of the baby.
I have learned more in the last (almost) 4 months with Maja than I have in the last decade in the Nuclear Power Industry. Just a few things I have learned:
-burping is a sport, and if it were an olympic event, I would win a gold
-that no matter what you do to screw her up, your baby still loves you
-however hard the day might be, coming home to a fussy daughter with a poopy diaper is a better therapy than any day spa
-staring at your baby beats staring at the TV... even while she is asleep
-being able to take your daughter in the kitchen to give a cooking lesson and have her hang on to your every word can make you feel like you have found your purpose in life
-Great Beer, Daughter in her #12 Jersey, and the Pack down at Lambeau kicking the snot out of the Bears is the reason God invented football
-the more time I spend around my Daughter, the more I love my Wife
I didn't mean to get all sappy, but having to write about Maja kind of gets me all sentimental. Cynical Jeff will be back later I promise!

The Infamous Poop Story and more fun
Hello everybody, it's Jeff again. Sorry for taking so stinkin' long to write again. I have been hoping to keep this blog a little Maja-centric, so when you only see your Daughter for 3 hours a day and all she does in that time frame is eat and sleep and then yell at you for the bath water being too warm, there isn't a whole lot to write about.
That was then, this is now.
She has gone from being a near catatonic poop factory to getting an identifiable personality and a peculiar like for almost all things Daddy-related. I say "almost all" things because a bottle-wielding Daddy is no match for a boob, but it makes you wonder...

Okay! just kidding!! We do have our cuddle times where she grins at me from around a rubber nipple, but believe me, real boob trumps Daddy every time.
If you have been reading the blog, you will know that the little girl had some issues with her... uhhh... "out box". By the end of those ten days I was feeling a bit like Linus waiting for the Great Pumpkin. We called the Hospital about it and we were told that we should first try sticking a thermometer in her booty and give a twist.
I shall let the full horror of that sink in for just a second.
Now, I don't know how Hitler ran over the top of Poland so easily, but I am pretty sure that if they had come in and said "Your job is to put ze Temperaturmessgerät un ze babies arsch" then there would have been a whole different outcome to that squabble. The Polish folk get angry when told to put stuff anywhere near there kids butt. But it was Doctor's Orders, so Aga determined that I was to do it. All that goes through my head is "I am Maja's role model for what a Man Should Be". So what happens when this "role model" is having to poke objects into her booty? This is a question better left unanswered I tell ya! The only time I did do it, I had to have Aga hold her legs from kicking because my other hand was covering Maja's eyes so she couldn't see that it was me. And the real pisser is that it didn't work! I was expecting a gushing torrent of... stuff to come flying out. So we skipped the rest of that and went straight to prune juice. That stuff is amazing! One half of a tablespoon in her bottle of milk at night and she pooped for the next 36 hours straight, we are not really sure if she stopped. I really think the prune industry is missing out on a great point of advertising; "Will Prevent The Insertion Of Foriegn Objects Into Subjects Less Than One Year Old".
I swear my next post will be cleaner than this, but I had to get this of my chest.

Maja loves her Daddy
1. Every diaper change is tickle time for them :). She starts going nuts as soon as he lays her on the changing table... she knows what's coming!
2. She could spend hours "petting" his beard
3. No more crying after bathtime... Daddy makes it all good now!
4. She turns her head to follow him around anytime she hears/sees him... even when she is breastfeeding which normally I wouldn't have a problem with it except she sometimes forgets to let go of the nipple!!!!
5. Daddy still rocks at burping :D
6. They love to cook together... Maja sits in her bouncy chair and he walks her through everything he is doing... she "talks" back... very loudly might I add!

When it rains, it pours!
Maja's baptism gown
is almost ready to be picked up!! I'm so excited waiting for the call :).
I'm having it custom made out of my wedding dress by a local seamstress. We decided not to follow any pattern and designed it ourselves. I'm really curious to see how it turned out.
I'll post pics as soon as I can!

Lost my ENTIRE phone list!!!!
I was trying to switch to Jeff's old phone so I went to the Verizon store and asked them to move all of my contacts into his phone. That dum-dum not only moved contacts to the wrong phone (Jeff's list to mine) but also erased all of the ones that were there (mine)!!! So now I have two phone with the same contact list (Jeff's)
I'm so mad because when I went back to ask what happened (I drove around the block and noticed the error so it literally took me less then 10 mins to get back in there) the guy just stood there looking at me like I'm crazy saying "the machines aren't set up to erase anything... they don't do that". I don't care what the machine does!!!! I gave you a phone with a phone list to move... now there's a completely new list on there and the old one is gone!! Dude just stood there repeating himself!
So friends and family... I'll be sending an email at some point to collect numbers but in the meantime, if you read this please send me your phone number (aga_40@yahoo.com). Especially if you're in Seattle... we will be visiting next week so I want to make sure I can get hold of you :). If you think/know you are on Jeff's list, then don't worry about it, I got you :).
Thanks everyone!

7 days and no poop :(
Poor Maja is starting to get uncomfortable. After a failed thermometer trick (consider yourself lucky if you have no idea what I'm talking about), prune juice is the next step as per the Dr's instructions. We aren't sure about that though, so we will try to find something else we can do. Apparently up to 10 days is the norm for breastfed babies so we still have some room to wiggle.
This one is for auntie Kara
Maja and Julian one more time :)
